Pickersgill’s Reed Frog (Hyperolius pickersgilli)
Critically Endangered

These frogs are a veritable needle in a haystack. Small, quiet and fast, they live in a dense jungle of reeds above water.

The species is known only from a few sites along the KZN coast.
Unfortunately most of its habitat has disappeared through wetland drainage, urban and industrial development and land transformation in this highly sought-after stretch of coast.

Visit the Pickersgill’s Reed Frog page on the EWT website for more information on local threats and EWT interventions.
